AID AND ASSISTANCE NEED FOR VICTIMS OF TAAL VOLCANO ERUPTION

“An eruption of Taal Volcano in the Philippines began on January 12, 2020. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) subsequently issued an Alert Level 4, indicating that ‘a hazardous explosive eruption is possible within hours to days.’ It was a phreatic eruption from the main crater that spewed ashes to Calabarzon, Metro Manila, some parts of Central Luzon and Pangasinan in Ilocos Region, resulting in the suspension of classes, work schedules, and flights.” Read more here

Continuous volcanic activity has affected more than 250,000 lives and caused the evacuation of 70,000 locals.  The damage to houses and people’s means of livelihood is immense and incalculable.

Communities on lower ground are becoming ghost-towns with residents fleeing to higher ground to areas like Ibaan. And still, volcanologists are expecting more violent eruptions that could devastate the entire region.

    THE APPEAL

Batangas evacuees who fled Taal eruption reach the one million mark

The town of Ibaan in the Province of Batangas, east of Taal, has become one of the evacuation centers. They have asked for help in feeding people and maintaining hygiene. Town folks have opened their homes to evacuees, now numbering over 6000.

Town folks have opened their homes to evacuees, in some barangays (organized residential clusters) there are 170 evacuees. Each barangay is actively helping. The greatest need is for water, blankets, plastic mats for bedding, and canned goods.

    TAKE ACTION!

    Evacuation center

The kind and compassionate Batangueños need our help. Your individual donation of any amount will be appreciated and recognized on our websites and in the Business Chronicles and One Philippines.

And through our new PACC Foundation, all donations will be tax-deductible.  This is our moment in time. For a very small amount of time and money from each of us, together we can make a big difference.

Please seize the moment and do your part to make a difference in people’s lives!
